If you love holidaying in temperatures that can easily exceed 40 degrees Celsius then Marmaris is where you'll want to be heading for your summer holiday this year!
Marmaris has some of the most impressive record high temperatures in the whole of Turkey! Record highs of over 45 degrees Celsius (113.4 Fahrenheit) have been recorded in the peak summer month of July, so if you're wondering when you have the best chance of catching the best weather, head for Marmaris in July! However, there are still some impressive highs that have been recorded in August (42.6C), in June (42.2C) in May (36C) and even in April (31C) and November (31.6C)! September (40.7C) plus October (39C) are very impressive also!
Remember that very high temperatures can be very dangerous to us squishy human beings, so it's very important to make sure that you always carry a bottle of water around with you at all times when temperatures are high and when the sun is beaming down, as you will dehydrate very quickly, which can lead to heat stroke and other problems, so keep drinking and don't let yourself get too hot! Humidity can also surprise you, as it can reduce your ability to sweat meaning that you won't cool down like you do in colder temperatures, so make sure you keep a close eye on yourself and especially the kids! A hat is a very good idea! Also, don't forget your sunscreen and sunblock for the little ones as the sun can get very intense indeed and will not hesitate in turning all that pasty white skin, bright red in less than five minutes!
Average High & Lows
Many of the record highs are very hot, maybe even a bit too hot for comfortable family holidays, so you will be glad to know that the average highs and the average lows are much more likely compared to the record high temperatures! But don't worry, just because the average temperatures are lower than the record highs, you won't have to put your snow boots on! The average high for July is 34.5 degrees Celsius, which is still more than a toasty temperature, perfect for relaxing in the sun with minimal clothing on! Other average highs include May (25.9C), June (31.4C), August (34.3C), September (30.8) and October (25.9). When it comes to the average lows, you definitely won;t be experiencing a chilly breeze anytime soon, as they tend to stay over 20 degrees Celsius in the summer months with June (20.1C), July (23.1C), August (23.2) and September at an even 20.0C.
Don't forget that the sun can get very intense even during the colder temperatures, so make sure that you stay hydrated and load up on that all important sun lotion!
Although Marmaris can be comfortably warm even throughout the winter months, there is always the chance that you may see a little bit of ice during the Christmas period where temperatures have been know to fall below 0 degrees Celsius. Although quite rare, it does happen and the record lows for Marmaris have been -2.4C in January and even -3.4C in February! But don't let that put you off, as it is very unlikely that you will experience such low temperatures on your sunny Marmaris holiday!
